What "verified" actually looks like
- ✗ No owner edits
- ✗ No photos uploaded
- ✗ No lead-capture form
- ✗ Auto-populated from Google only
- Owner-verified info
- Custom photos & descriptions
- Direct lead-capture form
- Verified badge on listing
Our three-step methodology
Data in, verification, accuracy out.
Source: Google Places API
Every listing starts from verified Google business records.
- Business name, address, phone number, hours, and map coordinates pulled directly from Google Places API
- Star ratings and review counts mirror Google Reviews — we never alter, filter, or invent ratings
- Only businesses classified as medical spas or aesthetic clinics are included
- Duplicate detection via Google place_id prevents double listings
Owner Verification
When a spa claims its listing, we verify ownership before granting edit access.
- Auto-verification when the claimant's email domain matches the spa's verified website domain
- Manual review within 24 hours for all other claim requests
- Claimed listings display a Verified badge so patients know the owner actively manages the profile
- Photos, descriptions, and special offers are only editable by verified owners
Ongoing Accuracy
Data is refreshed periodically to catch closures, moves, and rating changes.
- Rating and review-count refreshes pull the latest numbers from Google
- Closed businesses are flagged and removed automatically
- Owners can request corrections at any time via their dashboard
- Users can flag inaccurate info — we review every report
Medical oversight standards
Medical spas legally require a licensed physician as medical director in every US state. This is a legal requirement — not a marketing preference. Our educational content consistently emphasizes the importance of choosing med spas with proper medical oversight and credentialed practitioners. When in doubt, ask to see the medical director's license.
Common questions
Transparency, answered.
How often is the data refreshed?
Google ratings, review counts, and hours are refreshed periodically — typically within 30 days of any change Google publishes. Owner-updated content (photos, descriptions, special offers) updates immediately.
Can a spa pay to improve its Google rating on your site?
No. Google ratings and review counts are pulled directly from Google Reviews. Paid tiers (Claimed, Premium, Enterprise) unlock features like photos, lead capture, and priority placement — not rating changes.
What happens if a med spa closes?
Our data refresh checks Google's business-status field. Closed businesses are deactivated on our site automatically. Users can also report closures, which we verify within 24 hours.
How do you know who really owns a listing?
Claim requests are auto-verified if the claimant's email domain matches the spa's known website domain (e.g., jane@glowmedspa.com claiming glowmedspa.com). All other claims go through a manual review within 24 hours.
Do you write the reviews yourselves?
Never. All reviews and ratings shown on our site come directly from Google. We do not solicit, write, or edit reviews.
How do I report an inaccurate listing?
Use the "Report inaccuracy" link on any listing page, or email hello@medicalspalocator.com with the spa name and the issue. We investigate every report.
